Disponible.

In general terms, it can be said that the senior non-commissioned officer has become “an invaluable collaborator of the head of the Unit, on whom he depends, gathering the concerns of the non-commissioned officers and the troop personnel”.
The job of second lieutenant began to be used in 1702, introduced by King Philip V, being at that time the first grade of the officers’ scale, after which was the second lieutenant or lieutenant. In 1867 it became ensign, currently used as an academic job for the students of the Military Academies of Officers and as a rank for volunteer reservist officers. It was recovered in 1931, this time as part of the Non-Commissioned Officers Corps, being its highest rank until 1989.
The Private First Class or Seaman First Class in the Navy performs the same functions and duties as the rest of the soldiers and does not have a different salary from them. It is currently used more as a distinction than as a military rank.
Normally the soldier is proposed for this rank as a distinction, which is granted by the Chiefs of Staff of the Army and Navy on the occasion of the Military Easter (January 6) and the National Holiday (October 12); by their unit chiefs in recognition of the professional career, discipline and impeccable conduct.
